The Bubble at Steam

The Bubble at Steam (work in progress)

The Bubble at Steam (work in progress)

I finally got round to developing some ideas for this painting. I decided to go with a whole new theme of bubble ideas (the blue bubbles). There’s still a fair bit of work to be done.

The Inevitable Couple

The next thing I remember everyone, that is me, Jerry, Jude and Paul were standing inside my little hallway that serves as the epicentre of my apartment. Pleasantries were being exchanged, I introduced them to Jude as my two old school friends. I shook Paul’s hand, and he sent me his daft smile, that I guess somehow Jerry had fallen in love with, and then Jerry and I kissed each other on the cheek.

It was an electric moment. In that briefest of times my face touched hers, I could smell the soft fragrance from the her powdery foundation, I felt I could feel the tiny hairs on the side of her cheek, I felt a feeling of warmth in the centre of my cheek that rapidly spread out to heat my whole self. I think I stood there motionless, it was as if I was in the presence of an angel who had just stepped into my apartment. Only Paul handing me his jacket broke the trance, then he helped Jerry out of her long, white wool coat, underneath which she wore a black dress covered and covered in sparkling sequins. Although I had seen her just the other day, seeing her now, it was like she had suddenly become a woman. Perhaps, the woman I never imagined her to be. I guess I had rehearsed in my mind this moment. Yes I had rehearsed it over and over again, but now it was here it wasn’t as I expected. There was something much more grown up about this moment. Now things seemed more serious and important than ever before.

There was a party

It was a night full of unforgettable moments. Looking back now, you could maybe say

                                                                                                                                                    that it was all inevitable,

but every day of our lives in some way has an inevitability about it. I really should have thought things would have turned out this way. Not just for me, but for Francesca and Jude, for Bill, for Harvey, for our new found Goddess Miranda, and for Jerry and Paul, since after all they were the original inevitable couple. Let me take you there now, and you can read for yourself how the night unfolded.

E.A.T. (you heard it here first)

Culture and art for the twenty, the thirty, the whatever somethings. Art lovers of the world unite, you could say. It goes by the pretty surreal name, EAT, which while it makes it sound like another kind of foodie mag, and which has stood for various things at various times. Officially and specifically EAT stands for Ethical Artistic Terrorism.

Rather like walking along the road and playing make up a phrase from the 3 letters together on every number plate. EAT could mean Eggs And Toast, Every Alternative Theory, Eat All Trogs, Ecstacy And Tranqs, the list goes on. But if you like:

Definition. Ethical Artistic Terrorism (EAT): Art movement circa 21st century, non-geographically based. Elitist and vision based on the principal that links to all previous art movements are severed. Keywords: Message, Action. Embracing art objects and works delivering society commentary or counter establishment messages as well as acts of artistic destruction.

Love and art will take us there

Hello to my new writing blog. I will use this as an outlet for the writing I do, so expect to find bits of my novel, bits of my short stories, bits of this and that all jumbled up. Each time I write something I will put all of it or an extract up here. I feel a lot of love today.

As an example I wrote some of my novel and I wrote this today:

We greeted each and everyone of our guests with finesse and a little largesse, we faired les bis with each of them, male or female, we took their coats, we showed them in, presented them with a Martini and made their introductions at the door to our salon. It was all so perfect. We said to ourselves how we our going to do this again and again in the future when we get our glittering loft space.

Love and Art will take us there.
